Fashion and history are the foundations of my art practice. I scour flea markets and yard sales for vintage magazines, postcards, instructional books, and other paper-based materials that I rework, arrange, and manipulate both physically and digitally. I blend archival research with intuitive visual interpretation by carefully collecting, editing, drawing, coloring, and reconfiguring these materials in the same manner I approach text.

The repetition and duplication in my work allows me to reexamine both mundane and iconic imagery that surrounds us daily. For my tarot series, I researched historic tarot decks dating back to the 18th century and reinterpreted them using materials ranging from 1950s fashion magazines to present-day celestial photography. My collage work is interwoven with my scholarly study and relies on careful interrogation and consideration of visual and textual sources.
